Maestra y licenciada en Pedagogía por la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, profesora del posgrado y la licenciatura en Pedagogía de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras.
Directora de Desarrollo del Curriculum Intercultural en la Coordinación General de Educación Intercultural y Bilingüe de la Secretaría de Educación Pública de México.
Coordinadora de Comunicación y Difusión del Consejo Mexicano de Investigación Educativa y Representante del IISUE ante el Consejo Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales, CLACSO. Además de pertenecer a la Asociación Internacional de Estudios Avanzados sobre el Curriculum de la Universidad de Ottawa, Canadá, es integrante fundadora de la Red de estudios del curriculum Latinoamérica y la Red Curriculum México.
Su interés es analizar los sistemas educativos latinoamericanos, particularmente México, tomando como punto de abordaje las complejas relaciones entre raza, clase y epistemología que configuran el referente identitario cultural del currículum de la educación básica.
Dr. Ana Laura Gallardo holds a PhD, master's and bachelor's degree in Pedagogy from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM). She is a professor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Pedagogy program of the same faculty.
She previously served as Director of Curriculum Development for Intercultural Education at the General Coordination of Intercultural and Bilingual Education at Mexico’s Ministry of Public Education (SEP). She is currently the Communication and Dissemination Coordinator for the Mexican Council of Educational Research (COMIE) and the IISUE representative for the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO). Additionally, she is a member of the International Association for Advanced Curriculum Studies at the University of Ottawa, Canada, as well as a founding member of both the Latin American Curriculum Studies Network and the Curriculum Studies Network in Mexico.
Her research focuses on analyzing Latin American educational systems, with a particular emphasis on Mexico. Her work explores the complex intersections of race, class, and epistemology that shape the cultural and identity-related frameworks underpinning the curriculum for basic education.
